The 60 community members who attended the free session held at the Meeniyan Hall, May 14th are now more prepared for any disaster including fire, flood, storm and power outages. A presentation by James Bremner from the South Gippsland Shire and a hands-on talk from Wendy Caple representing Australian Red Cross took the attendees through the essential planning needed in any emergency. Everyone was given a bag containing lots of information with a mini solar cranking flashlight and encouraged to download the relevant apps [ Emergency Plus, Vic Emergency, ABC Radio and BOM Weather ] to help in any emergency or disaster.
