About

Schedule

Meet the artists

  • Anthea Williams

Anthea’s work in the ArtCubes respond to the Meeniyan area and will include initial documentation and interpretation of its people and places and objects of interest. Possible materials and media will include drawings, digital photography, sound recordings and found objects.

  • Mandy Gunn

See Scapes will comprise paintings, drawings and monoprints of land and sea scapes by Mandy Gunn, plus sketchbooks to demonstrate the process.

Mandy will also be running drawing and watercolour workshops.

  • Constance Baker

Constance is a portrait and animal artist.

Throughout her time in the ArtCube, she will be exhibiting her work as well as undertaking pet portraits in graphite and some fun animal paintings.

Constance will be offering casual simple drawing exercises to anyone interested.

  • Janine Durston

Janine will be exhibiting her nature illustrations, inspired by the nature of Meeniyan and surrounding area, as well as some of the natural objects that she captures in her work.

Janine will also be undertaking demonstrations of her work in the ArtCube.

  • Rachel Knoester

Rachel works in both painting and mosaic mediums. When working in mosaics, forms are broken down to simple shapes to represent natures beauty in a much more abstract way; this has influenced my painting taking it in a similar direction.

Rachel is inspired by the Gippsland countryside, and represents her home in loose abstract form to communicate to the viewer not only the powerful visual scene but also to feel its impact. She often includes the presence of an animal in a location, evoking an emotional response while capturing that “moment in time” on canvas.

  • Andrew Murray

Andrew Murray is bringing music to the ArtCubes for the first time in South Gippsland. Come visit and see the compositional process inaction. View Andrew’s musical scores, individual parts for the instrumentalists and view recordings of these charts performed live on screen. Andrew’s nine albums will be available for purchase on CD and also digitally.

For the performer, there will be scores and parts available to check out and purchase, ranging from small group all the way through to big band!

  • Angelo Saridis

Angelo will reimagine his Artcube as a music studio. Here he will write and record new material and provide a listening station where visitors to the Cube can listen to his catalogue of music.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday will see Angelo deliver as series of live performances, inviting members of the audience to participate in the songwriting process, including ideation and lyric development.

  • Nicky Fraser

Nicky is a ceramicist who will be making and experimenting with different materials in her ArtCube.

She will focus on the exploration of different mediums in a new setting and see how this impacts upon her ceramic making processes.

Nicky invites people to visit and talk with her while she is working in her ArtCube, to engage curious conversations about her practice and art making in general.

Nicky will be in her Cube on Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 2pm.
